Explore downtown Perth and you will discover Matheson House, a restored period house built in 1840 and home of the Perth Museum.

This National Historic Site gives you the opportunity to step back in time as you walk through the dwelling’s four period rooms.

Keep your eyes open for the acclaimed pistols that were used in Perth’s “Last Fatal Duel” in 1833, and watch for the upcoming geological display of the renowned Dr. Wilson Collection in the new Rock and Mineral gallery. Outside the building, visit the Scottish garden, bake oven, and kitchen herb garden.

The museum is open year-round.

Built in 1840 this beautiful stone dwelling now houses the Perth Museum. The Museum houses a rich collection of local history and is located in downtown Heritage Perth. Open 7 days a week.
