Learn how maple sugar production originated in Canada and see some of the artifacts used to produce this sweet treat at Wheelers Maple Heritage Museum, 25 minutes west of Perth in Lanark County, the Maple Syrup Capital of Ontario.

The museum houses equipment and tools in a 2,200 square feet indoor exhibit, plus outdoor displays. Visit Coopers shop to see how wooden staves were constructed into buckets and barrels to transport the maple syrup. There is also a sugar shack dating back to the early 1900s.
